Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors or Masters degree from an accredited institution in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience/combined education.
- Proficiency with electrical test instruments including bench-top power supplies, oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and data acquisition systems.
- Familiarity with various sensors such as accelerometers, strain gauges, thermocouples, RTDs, load cells, and microphones, including troubleshooting capabilities.
- Prior experience with testing procedures and quality assurance processes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in a test lab setting; exposure to structural and environmental testing is advantageous.
- Understanding of digital signal processing, signal conditioning, and data analysis techniques.
- Skills in data manipulation using Matlab and Excel; programming capabilities are preferred.
- Knowledge of Modal testing and associated data analysis techniques.
- Experience creating Lab Work Instructions or Test Procedures.
Responsibilities
- Lead the installation and operational management of instrumentation and data acquisition systems during testing phases including environmental, modal, and integration assessments.
- Collaborate with technical specialists and support staff to fulfill program requirements effectively.
- Provide guidance to clients and laboratories regarding measurement capabilities and limitations, along with recommendations to enhance outcomes.
- Develop and document work instructions for equipment installation and verification.
- Supervise technician efforts in performing instrumentation tasks.
- Configure, operate, and troubleshoot data acquisition systems, instrumentation, and automated testing equipment.
- Create and evaluate testing procedures and protocols.
- Establish and execute Modal testing, including post-test data analysis.
- Assist in resolving test discrepancies and engage in troubleshooting activities as needed.
- Prepare and share test results, reports, and analytical findings.
