Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience with AWS services
- Strong expertise in cloud security, networking, and cost optimization
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools
- Proven experience leading a team through technological transformation
- Masters degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred)
- Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and managing complex AWS architectures
- Previous role as a Senior AWS Architect with a robust understanding of cloud computing principles and AWS services
- Knowledge of AWS services including EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, Lambda, and CloudFormation
- Experience with DevOps tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional and/or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional certifications
- Experience transitioning from on-premises to cloud infrastructure
- Familiarity with DoD requirements and environments
- Ability to integrate cloud with on-premises infrastructure
- Understanding of cloud security, networking, cost optimization, and compliance standards (DFARS, RMF, NIST 800 53)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Results-oriented mindset focused on automation, efficiency, and continuous improvement
Responsibilities
- Lead the transition of on-premises infrastructure to the cloud
- Develop a detailed strategy for migrating to AWS cloud
- Foster collaboration with hardware, flight test, and systems engineering teams for seamless integration
- Design and implement scalable, highly available, and secure AWS architectures
- Optimize cloud resource utilization and manage costs using AWS best practices
- Build comprehensive CI/CD pipelines that automate testing and delivery processes
- Automate infrastructure provisioning with AWS tools and services
- Ensure smooth interoperability between cloud systems and on-premises setups
- Provide mentorship and technical leadership to the engineering team
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet requirements and resolve challenges
- Guide the engineering team in DevSecOps and cloud adoption initiatives
- Mentor junior staff on contemporary cloud and serverless technologies
- Manage project budgets and timelines effectively
- Influence funding for digital transformation projects across the platform
- Produce architectural and cost-benefit analyses for stakeholders
- Participate in proposal development and cost estimate reviews
- Act as the main point of contact for digital engineering with internal and external clients
- Deliver executive briefings and status updates to senior leadership and clients
