Requirements
Must:
- Familiarity with commercial computer systems, devices, software, and technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of independently conducting research and presenting findings to engineering and program teams.
- Knowledge of Obsolescence and Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS); system analysis and design skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
- Must be eligible to obtain a US DoD Secret Clearance.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work under deadlines and complete tasks.
- Experience in the design and development of hardware and software.
- Project leadership experience on small-scale initiatives.
- Familiarity with the Aegis Weapon System (AWS).
- Understanding of SPY-7 RADAR technology.
- Knowledge of Lockheed Martin products.
- Familiarity with Engineering Processes (PR/ECN/CCB).
- Experience with CDATS.
- Two years of experience in DMSMS.
- Ability to actively participate in large-group discussions and present findings to engineering and program teams.
Responsibilities
- Assist in ensuring Lockheed Martins products can be effectively produced and maintained throughout their lifecycle.
- Join a team of engineers focused on researching obsolescence in hardware and software for various Aegis Weapon Systems (AWS), SPY-7, and IWTA programs.
- Analyze commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) components and software associated with both Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and Lockheed Martin programs.
- Review technical and obsolescence data to identify potential impacts for both internal and external customers under the guidance of senior personnel.
- Provide design recommendations to engineering for preferred parts, materials, and suppliers to mitigate obsolescence and DMSMS impacts.
- Propose suppliers/technologies for COTS electrical and mechanical part selections considering cost, reliability, quality, and availability.
- Lead and support working group meetings to monitor the status and action items related to obsolescence.
- Track internal metrics to ensure that processes and resolutions are being effectively followed and implemented.
- Manage small DMSMS programs, ensuring the successful completion of day-to-day activities related to those programs.
