Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors or Masters degree from an accredited institution or relevant experience in Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience navigating the systems development life cycle (SDLC).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Capability to obtain and sustain DoD Security Clearance at the Secret level.
- Must possess a DoD 8570.01-M certification (Security+ or higher, IAT Level II Certification) within six months of employment.
- Familiarity with NIST 800.53 guidelines and best practices.
- Experience with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
- Proficiency in security tools such as Splunk, Trellix, or Nessus.
- Background in scripting languages including Ansible, Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Skills in software analysis related to code, requirements, and vulnerabilities.
- Experience in managing Windows server environments, including Active Directory and Group Policy.
- Knowledge in network architecture design and setup (e.g., Cisco, Palo Alto).
- Familiarity with hypervisor technologies (e.g., Hyper-V).
- Experience with Linux systems and applications.
- Understanding of Raise the Bar (RTB) principles.
- Knowledge in patch management and IAVM deployment strategies.
- Experience using security assessment tools like ACAS or other vulnerability scanners.
- Additional certifications in cloud, networking, server management, or containerization.
Responsibilities
- Design and create cybersecurity solutions that cover the entire system lifecycle, from the initial planning stages to final validation.
- Carry out comprehensive risk assessments, including threat modeling and vulnerability analysis, to identify and remedy potential security weaknesses.
- Collaborate closely with engineers and system architects to evaluate and address cybersecurity trade-offs and design limitations.
- Execute cybersecurity testing to confirm that hardware and software designs adhere to security requirements.
- Apply established cybersecurity methodologies, processes, and tools consistently across projects.
- Provide support for assessment and authorization efforts to maintain compliance with mandated cybersecurity standards.
