Requirements
Must:
- Experience or interest in working with electro-optical sensors and/or optical systems or lasers
- Proficiency in MATLAB and/or Simulink
- Programming skills in software and laboratory environments (e.g., Labview, C/C++ or similar)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
- Masters degree in a relevant field (preferred)
- Experience in designing control systems and analyzing laser or directed energy systems
- Familiarity with optical system controls including adaptive optics, fast steering mirrors, and jitter/beamwalk controls
- Knowledge of multi-input-multi-output (MIMO) control strategies and advanced control techniques
- Understanding or experience with real-time control implementation, real-time operating systems, FPGA, multi-core, and GPU-based devices
Responsibilities
- Conduct research, analysis, design, and development of control systems algorithms and software for optical and directed energy programs
- Engage in wavefront control and adaptive optics initiatives
- Implement advanced control and stabilization concepts
- Manage jitter/beamwalk control systems
- Execute target detection, tracking, and filtering tasks
