Requirements
Must:
- 7-9 years of general Information Technology experience in a mid-size to large organization.
- 3-5 years of advanced Cyber Security experience, including knowledge of security assessment and penetration testing methodologies.
- Strong experience with security technologies such as firewalls, IPS/IDS, NAC, EDR, proxies, and similar products for securing network perimeters.
- Advanced understanding of network monitoring, SEIM, and incident response/threat hunting tools.
- Proficiency in operating within a business environment and using standard office equipment like PCs, copiers, and telephones.
- Capability to lift at least 25 lbs, such as file boxes or printers.
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology or a related engineering or technical field.
- Relevant certifications such as CEH, GWAPT, GPEN, OSCP, GSEC, GCIH, GMON, GCWN, GCIA, and/or GSE.
- Familiarity with cyber security regulations and their implementation.
- Extensive knowledge of network administration and engineering.
- Significant experience in digital forensics related to malware investigations.
- Ability to detect unusual behavior on network and endpoint devices.
- Experience with Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) solutions.
- Knowledge of processes and tools for ensuring compliance with data protection standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead ongoing assessments of security tools and evaluate technology capabilities to meet security requirements of the credit union.
- Provide daily insights on overall security coverage for specific platforms, ensuring appropriate reporting.
- Support network defense system architecture and installation by developing and facilitating security initiatives.
- Safeguard network access and prevent unauthorized actions affecting critical data for achieving information security goals.
- Review, develop, test, and implement security plans and controls, also documenting policies and procedures.
- Draft and update documentation regarding tactics, techniques, operating procedures, and security controls for network hardware/software.
- Offer technical expertise in supporting Information Security and operational processes for protecting information assets.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining enterprise-wide data and security-related infrastructure and applications.
- Lead efforts in responding to and investigating cyber security incidents, designing corrective measures.
- Conduct software security analyses during software approval processes and provide actionable recommendations.
- Address findings from internal and external penetration tests and audits, working towards mitigation.
- Utilize prior security knowledge to adapt to evolving technologies and threats.
- Collaborate with Enterprise Applications and Architecture teams to design security services and propose architecture enhancements.
- Take responsibility for your actions and decisions, showing openness to feedback and a commitment to improvement.
