Requirements
Must:
- High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED, foreign equivalency).
- Five (5) years of relevant professional experience with enterprise databases (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server) for reporting, data visualizations, or business intelligence; OR an Associate degree in a related field (e.g., computer science, IT) and three (3) years of experience; OR a Bachelors degree in a related field and one (1) year of experience.
- One (1) year of experience in writing SQL queries, functions, and stored procedures.
- At least one (1) year of experience using a commercial toolset or scripting language for reports and data visualizations.
- Proficient in writing SQL queries, including aggregate functions and group by/having clauses.
- Skilled in creating SQL stored procedures using PL/SQL or T-SQL.
- Experienced in developing ETL procedures with commercial tools or SQL.
- Capable of designing data visualizations through toolsets or scripting languages.
- Adept at translating end-user functional requirements into clear, actionable solutions.
- Proficient in providing end-user support in person, via email, and over the phone.
- Committed to staying current with the latest technologies and applications.
- Detail-oriented, ensuring high data accuracy.
- Collaborative team player who works well with coordinators, analysts, and other staff.
- Familiar with common database, spreadsheet, word processing, and SIS software.
- Capable of learning and adhering to relevant policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Effective communicator, both verbal and written.
- Possesses the necessary physical and mental stamina for the role.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with school and central office administration to collect functional requirements and finalize them with departmental input.
- Structure and develop interactive data visualizations (e.g., charts, graphs, tables) to satisfy end-user needs.
- Conduct quality assurance checks to test and validate data visualizations for accuracy and performance.
- Identify necessary functional data stores for data visualization and create ETL procedures for data access.
- Address end-user queries promptly and professionally.
- Document requirements, specifications, data dictionaries, and standards-compliant documentation.
- Prepare end-user documentation and assist in the implementation of new or modified programs.
- Conduct training sessions for school staff on utilizing and analyzing interactive data visualizations.
- Monitor and review data applications, recommending improvements for design and functionality.
- Maintain clear communication with stakeholders throughout application development.
- Adhere to prescribed safety standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
