Requirements
Must:
- Availability for overnight shifts, including weekends
- Proficient in troubleshooting physical server components
- Knowledge of basic OS installation and setup (Linux/Windows)
- Basic understanding of networking (IP addressing, switch port configuration, cabling)
- Competence in prioritizing and managing multiple support tickets
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Willingness to work in a physical datacenter environment, including lifting and racking tasks
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with enterprise-level server hardware (e.g., Dell, Supermicro, HP)
- Familiarity with Cisco or Juniper switch configurations
- Basic understanding of control panels (like cPanel, Plesk) and virtualization tools (VMware ESXi)
- Experience utilizing ticketing systems for technical support
Responsibilities
- Provision new dedicated and cloud servers with fundamental OS installations (Linux/Windows)
- Diagnose and repair server hardware components (such as motherboards, CPUs, drives, memory)
- Handle racking, de-racking, and physical upkeep of servers
- Monitor and support network infrastructure including basic switch configurations and cabling
- Verify that power systems are stable and properly connected to active hardware
- Respond to support tickets within a 10-minute service level agreement window
- Implement hardware upgrades and replacements as necessary
- Maintain proper documentation and organized workflows
- Assist with logistical tasks like inventory tracking and order preparations
