Responsibilities
As a Senior Firmware Engineer at Levven, I will be looking for someone who will take charge of:
Technical Leadership:
- Designing firmware architectures for new products and significant feature developments.
- Owning firmware delivery for one or more product lines, guiding the process from specification to release, along with ongoing maintenance and support.
- Creating and presenting technical proposals to our engineering leadership.
- Evaluating technical trade-offs and recommending implementation strategies.
- Leading or engaging in design and architecture reviews for firmware components and systems.
- Maintaining and advancing coding standards and best practices within the firmware team.
- Providing effort estimates for firmware tasks and contributing to project planning.
- Mentoring junior engineers through code advice, design discussions, and knowledge sharing.
Development:
- Writing, testing, and maintaining embedded firmware using C.
- Developing unit tests and integration tests to ensure code reliability and safeguard against regressions.
- Creating and maintaining support tools and build infrastructure in Python.
- Debugging complex hardware/software interactions using appropriate tools (such as debuggers and protocol analyzers).
- Contributing to firmware release processes, including versioning, OTA update systems, and release qualification.
- Supporting continuous integration pipelines and automated build/test workflows.
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation, including hardware abstraction layers and troubleshooting guides.
- Documenting firmware interfaces and integration points for both internal and external stakeholders.
Collaboration:
- Participating in code reviews and providing constructive feedback to peers.
- Working with hardware engineers and software developers to define and refine hardware/software interfaces.
- Collaborating with QA, manufacturing/test, operations/support, and product management to plan releases, diagnose issues, and ensure smooth product launches.
- Assisting in the resolution of field issues and customer-reported problems through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Helping manufacturing with production bring-up and providing test firmware and troubleshooting documentation.

We offer a full-time, permanent position with a salary range of $100,000.00 to $120,000.00 per year.
