Requirements

Must:
- B.S. Degree and 8–12 years of prior relevant experience or a Masters with 6–10 years of prior relevant experience. A Doctorate in a technical domain (in STEM or relevant field) with 10 years of comparable experience or a Master’s degree with 6 years of comparable experience may also be considered. Work experience may be substituted at our discretion. - Effective written and oral communication and problem-solving skills. - Currently possess an active Secret clearance or be able to obtain an Interim Secret clearance. - Minimum of DoD 8570.01 IAT Level III Certification required prior to onboarding: CISSP or CASP. - An Associate-level Network Vendor Certification required prior to onboarding from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, F5, Palo Alto, or McAfee. - Willingness to work or be called in during off-hours to meet customer mission support requirements. - Participate in an on-call rotation for Incident Management responsibilities among the Transport Operations team. - Strong understanding of IP network/subnet addressing and extensive experience engineering and troubleshooting networks, including routing and switching. - Familiarity with the ITIL framework. - Ability to travel up to 25%, including potential OCONUS travel.

Responsibilities

- Support current operations for the United States Navy by providing Network Security and Network Engineering Subject Matter Expertise (SME) for the largest Intranet in the world, including network modification, design, integration, testing, security, and implementation of Transport Services for the as-fielded NMCI network. - Collaborate with the Network Operations Center, Network Administrators, and the Transport Operations Network Engineering Team to define and improve network security appliances and processes, including developing Network Security SOPs/TTPs and Continuous Service Improvements (CSI). - Plan and execute network upgrades and maintenance activities with key stakeholders. - Provide Tier III escalation support and vendor engagement for Incident Management activities. - Actively participate in Root Cause Analysis for Problem Management activities. - Conduct highly technical maintenance and configuration for firewalls, VPNs, IPS, and load balancers. - Create and maintain Engineering Implementation Plans (EIP) and technical documents.

Leidos is excited to offer a role as a Transport Operations Network Security & Information Assurance Engineer, where you will support the SMIT mission, the largest IT services program for the United States Navy, and play a crucial role in delivering the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) to customers globally. We seek a skilled engineer proficient in network security appliances and technologies (e.g., Firewalls, DMZ, IPS, VPN) to design, implement, and maintain robust global network security solutions. You will closely collaborate with cross-functional teams to safeguard our network infrastructure against emerging threats while managing relationships and overseeing key resources for Incident Response, Change Management, and ITSM and DevSecOps initiatives. While the pay range for this position is $87,100 - $157,450, offers will also be based on responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
