Requirements
Must:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience or Master's Degree and 2 years of experience. 4 years of work experience, or Associate's Degree plus 2 years of experience, may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.
- Degree in computer science, Information systems, Engineering, business, or a related scientific or technical discipline.
- Two years in an engineering position working on DoD programs/projects.
- Experience in requirements analysis, design, coding methodologies; documentation standards; configuration management; DoD software policies; and DoD test and evaluation requirements; real-time operating systems, distributed systems, modeling and simulation, database design and management, and resource utilization assessment.
- Experience with agile software development processes and systems engineering best practices.
- Ability to track, analyze, and communicate commercial technology trends and recommendations to a non-technical audience.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- An active secret level security clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance is required for this role.
Responsibilities
- I will develop and manage system-level requirements, operational system concepts, originate design concepts, and perform system-level integration and testing for highly complex systems.
- I will interact with systems users to translate their requirements into systems, hardware, and software requirements and design.
- I will participate in the development of test strategies.
- I will solve engineering problems in the functional area to which I am assigned.
- I will plan and perform engineering research, design development, and other assignments in conformance with design, engineering, and customer specifications.
- In coordination with security and information assurance procedures, I will implement safeguard measures to prevent damage and unauthorized modifications and disclosures.

Leidos is hiring a Systems Engineer to work with our Government-Contractor team, providing support for a near real-time, geospatially accurate Common Operating Picture (COP) toolset to meet mission requirements. This COP enables the sharing and reuse of geospatial intelligence across multiple functional areas in support of military operations.
