Requirements

Must:
- A Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience. - Must currently possess an active Top Secret/SCI clearance. - Proficiency with various AWS capabilities and services, including AWS networking and database architecture. - Experience in optimizing and managing AWS/cloud infrastructure costs, covering storage, compute, and databases. - Familiarity with various architecture frameworks, including Platform as a Service (PaaS) such as OpenShift and Virtual Desktop Environments. - A solid understanding of system (hardware, software, and networking) design and architecture. - Knowledge of agile software development methodologies. - Experience in developing backlogs and technical roadmaps. - Ability to lead and prioritize systems engineering and architecture requirements across multiple systems. - Background in web application and application workflow. - Experience as a product owner, systems engineer, or architect. - Proficient in preparing presentations and leading/attending technical exchange meetings. - Excellent communication skills with experience briefing stakeholders at all levels. - Familiar with using JIRA and Confluence.

Responsibilities

- Lead systems engineering activities that support the integration, modernization, and deployment of IT capabilities using remote desktop and cloud technologies. - Become a subject matter expert (SME) for the Aero baseline and supporting programs, communicating the system’s features, architecture, roadmap, and limitations to diverse audiences. - Review current architecture diagrams across Aero programs, identifying dependencies, connections, and interactions. - Collaborate with other program technical leadership on the system architecture roadmap aligned with customer technology strategy and vision. - Decompose requirements, use cases, and needs into epics and features with clearly defined acceptance criteria for agile development teams. - Provide hands-on technical support across systems engineering, software development, and testing. - Execute analysis of alternatives (AoA) and prototypes to determine the design of new system features and capabilities. - Participate in technical exchange meetings and other customer or stakeholder forums, providing subject matter expertise. - Manage system requirements and maintain technical requirement documents. - Create and communicate design artifacts to ensure applications and services align with business and architecture objectives. - Create workflow and architecture diagrams using Visio and/or Cameo. - Understand holistic solutions across the entire Aeronautical domain. - Communicate architectural decisions, plans, goals, and strategies to executive management and teams. - Review AWS and OpenShift cloud architectures for connections across systems and subsystems. - Analyze multiple cloud environments and troubleshoot solutions.

Description

We are looking to hire a Solution Architect to provide technical leadership for FS2's Aeronautical Task Order in support of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in collaborating with various customers and stakeholders, filling the communication gap between technical and non-technical specialists. With a broad knowledge of cloud environments, including AWS Virtual Machines (EC2s), Platform as a Service (PaaS) with Kubernetes, and OpenShift, the Solution Architect will invigorate technical innovation and drive smart change. Working closely with the project management team, your strategic recommendations will ensure that solutions fit defined purposes and align with NGA policies and FS2 program objectives. This position presents an exciting opportunity to significantly impact the future direction of the Aeronautical mission through architectural designs and driving implementation for all technical solutions within FS2's Aeronautical Task Order.
