Requirements
Must:
- You are a U.S. citizen with an active DOD Secret Security Clearance and can maintain this clearance throughout your employment with us.
- You hold a bachelor’s degree and possess at least 4 years of experience, or a master's degree with 2 years of experience. We may consider additional experience in lieu of a degree.
- You have over 3 years of experience in software testing and a solid grasp of testing principles and methodologies.
- You are proficient in writing test plans, test cases, and defect reports, and you possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- You have excellent communication and teamwork abilities, particularly in a remote work environment.
- You’re familiar with at least one programming language (such as Java, JavaScript, Python, or Ruby) and can work independently with minimal supervision.
- You know when to seek support and are willing to do so.
- You can effectively collaborate within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
- You have a working knowledge of Agile Development and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery methodologies and tools.
- You have experience with a version control system (like Git) and an issue tracking system (such as Jira).
Responsibilities
- I will lead the planning and execution of software testing, including developing and implementing comprehensive test plans for functional and component-level testing throughout the software development lifecycle.
- I will conduct manual testing on products and their components to ensure readiness for use and to identify potential regressions, managing and tracking findings until resolution.
- I’ll participate in early capability identification and test development, collaborating closely with systems engineers and development teams to understand and define system requirements and specifications.
- My role will involve translating system requirements into detailed test cases and scenarios, developing feature files using Gherkin syntax to support test automation.
- I will serve as the test lead for medium to large complex efforts, confirming the overall system meets defined requirements and capabilities.
- I will lead and participate in test events to validate the integration and interaction of system components, addressing issues and collaborating with developers for resolution.
- As part of a remote team, I will engage in regular meetings and maintain clear lines of communication, working directly with developers, systems engineers, and fellow testers to develop the appropriate set of tests needed to validate the software, while utilizing tools like Microsoft Teams and Slack.
- I will also contribute to the automation of manual tests and the tooling of the software, developing and maintaining automated test scripts using frameworks such as JUnit, Jest, Cucumber, or similar tools.
