Requirements
Must:
- I am a US Citizen with an active TS/SCI with Poly.
- I hold a Bachelor's degree and have 4-8 years of prior relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 2-6 years of prior relevant experience. I understand that additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- I have strong software scripting skills in Python and other scripting languages such as Bash or Perl.
- I possess prior experience with RDBMS databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, etc.).
- I have worked with the Git version-control system.
- I am familiar with Commercial Cloud Systems, particularly AWS.
- I have experience with Continuous Delivery/Integration tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and GITLAB Runners.
Responsibilities
- I will work with external data providers and stakeholders to engineer the ingest and distribution of mission-relevant data feeds into our data ecosystem.
- I will focus on the operations of COTS and GOTS software to ensure low latency, high data integrity, quality, and availability for over 600 data feeds (and growing).
- I will assist users in troubleshooting and resolving issues with data sets.
- I will thrive in a fast-moving environment with many moving parts and will be able to manage several tasks concurrently.
- I will collaborate with a highly qualified team to maintain the integrity of data flow by responding to real-time operational alerts.
- I will embody a continuous delivery mindset while achieving high availability goals for data flow through the system.
- I will configure and maintain data ingest workflows (ETL) across several production systems.
- I will install, configure, and update a wide array of COTS/GOTS and homegrown software applications.
- I will support and troubleshoot diverse IT infrastructure hardware platforms and protocols.
- I will work with software development and systems administration staff to monitor and troubleshoot production systems.
- I will generate and maintain systems documentation and diagrams.
- I will troubleshoot network issues and establish new connectivity.
- I will monitor and maintain a variety of databases.
Description
I prefer candidates who are certified to meet DoD 8570 level IAT-II qualifications, with Security+ certification or CISSP being a plus. This certification must be obtained within six months of hiring if not already certified. I value a strong systems engineering background, and experience developing in a Linux environment is preferred. An understanding of Amazon Web Services (EC2, RDS, S3), Hadoop, Accumulo, and Map Reduce techniques is beneficial. Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Grafana and Kibana, as well as message broker software like Kafka, and data streaming applications such as Storm will be an advantage. Additionally, I appreciate candidates who understand compiled languages, including Java.
Please note that the Leidos pay range for this job level is between $85,150.00 - $153,925.00. This range serves as a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Various factors, such as job responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and internal equity, will be considered in extending an offer.
