Software Development Lead - Aerospace Systems

I am looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications: - A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related technical discipline is essential. - At least 8 years of relevant technical experience is required. - A minimum of 3 years of experience leading teams and managing software development resources is necessary. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, alongside strong team leadership capabilities, are critical. - Candidates must demonstrate independence, collaborative skills, a capability to discern efficient roles and tasks, critical thinking, confidence, and sound judgment in decision-making while imparting a productive sense of urgency to the team. - Proficiency in developing software products or simulations using C, C++, Rust, C#, or Java is required, with a strong grasp of one of these programming languages, object-oriented design principles, and troubleshooting skills. - Experience with final products beyond prototypes, ensuring that software, integrated systems, or simulations were actively released and utilized is necessary. - Proficiency in peer reviews and evaluations of software development plans, specification management, architecture, designs, source code, unit tests, and verification processes is essential. - Familiarity with effective management of software suppliers or subcontractors and understanding of basic contract requirements is preferred. - A fundamental understanding of software configuration management, coding repositories, and development tools, such as DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, GitLab, Docker, and virtualization tools is important. - Knowledge of operating systems (Linux, UNIX, and/or Windows) and their respective development tools is required. - Understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC), its phases, metrics, and techniques for ensuring high-quality solutions is necessary. - Candidates should be able to manage multiple tasks and actively contribute to industry events, white papers, and competitive proposals. - A basic understanding of the software engineering process and its appropriate application is valued as well as an understanding of systems engineering principles related to software.
