Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree with at least 8 years of relevant experience or a Masters degree with a minimum of 6 years of related experience. - At least 4 years of supervisory or leadership experience in teams or projects. - Must be a U.S. Citizen. - Active CompTIA Security+ certification or capability to obtain it before starting. - Experience ensuring adherence to IT security standards, protocols, and procedures for classified environments. - Minimum of 6 years of practical experience in developing on the ServiceNow platform. - Proven track record in managing and supporting a self-hosted ServiceNow instance, which includes deep familiarity with the underlying infrastructure components. - Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) regarding system administration, security enhancement, and patch management. - Proficiency in MariaDB including database administration, performance optimization, and backup/recovery techniques. - Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure is advantageous. - Exceptional customer service, communication, organizational, and technical proficiency, with the capability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. - Demonstrated experience with the ServiceNow ITOM Visibility package, including configuring and troubleshooting Discovery and maintaining Service Mapping. - Strong understanding of networking principles and the ability to diagnose connectivity and permission issues.

Responsibilities

- This role involves active engagement in ServiceNow development tasks and encompasses both management and Solutions Architect responsibilities as part of a team based in Lorton, VA. - Must be present in the office 100% of the time unless otherwise directed by Leadership. - Primarily support Monday through Friday for 8 hours each day, while being available for mission-critical duties in a 24/7/365 environment. - Deep understanding of IT concepts, best practices, and procedures applicable within a Department of Defense context and with ServiceNow. - Provide technical leadership to the ServiceNow development team, which includes establishing coding conventions, conducting code reviews, and designing solutions that are in alignment with business requirements and architectural standards. - Act as the primary developer for intricate features and integrations, encompassing coding, testing, debugging, and mentoring team members on performance and optimization. - Offer technical advice and support concerning ServiceNow IT Service Management (ITSM) and the IT Asset Management (ITAM) module, with an emphasis on Software Asset Management (SAM) and Hardware Asset Management (HAM). - Configure and manage the Discovery tool to automatically identify and classify infrastructure while using Service Mapping to visualize business services and their IT components. - Manage all technical dimensions of a self-hosted ServiceNow instance, including upgrades, patches, and ensuring overall instance stability and performance. - Address routine issues proactively with predefined solutions; also address unforeseen problems as needed. - Collaborate closely with cloud infrastructure and engineering teams for managing the self-hosted environment, focusing on maintenance and resolution of infrastructure-related concerns. - Interact with stakeholders like the Enterprise Help Desk (EHD), Business Analysts, Project Managers, and others to gather requirements, translate them into actionable technical solutions, and provide expertise throughout project lifecycles. - Review and assist in editing documentation such as SOPs, IOPs, KBAs, and training materials for the EHD Tier 1 team and Program end users regarding ServiceNow functions and processes. - Display adaptability to shifting work demands, juggle multiple tasks and priorities, and exercise discretion effectively. - Create business process diagrams using standard methodologies within ServiceNow and support the development of systems engineering documentation and diagrams. - Operate with moderate guidance, exhibiting the ability to work both independently and within a team while keeping Leadership informed of task completion and unexpected challenges. - Further develop knowledge in specialized areas while acquiring additional skill sets. - Understand and work with APIs, both out of the box and customized, in ServiceNow implementations. - Represent the team effectively in meetings to gather requirements and present, including the creation of presentations and roadmaps as required. - Foster constructive relationships among peers, customers, stakeholders, technical teams, and contract managers. - Fulfill Leidos managerial duties, even if it requires extra hours beyond the conventional work schedule.
