Requirements

Must:
- A high school diploma or equivalent, coupled with 1-3 years of general experience, or a suitable mix of experience and college-level education. - Possession of 8570 certification such as CompTIA Network+, A+, or Security+ CE. - Exceptional skills in both verbal and written communication. - Strong abilities in problem-solving. - Proficient in documenting issues, troubleshooting steps, and the resolutions enacted. - Familiarity with the NMCI internal structure, processes, and tools. - Proficiency in using HPSM ticketing and Knowledge Management Systems. - Must be a U.S. citizen. - Availability to work assigned shifts, including nights and weekends. - Active interim or secret clearance is required.

Responsibilities

As a Service Desk Tier I Technician, I expect you to: - Utilize automated information systems to evaluate routine situations. - Examine incoming requests, both computer-generated and verbal, then categorize, sort, and prioritize tasks to manage your time effectively. - Solve problems independently or collaborate with teammates, escalating to advanced technical support when required. - Assist users by responding to individual requests for information and/or training on various databases. - Instruct users on the operation of PCs and networks. - Show critical thinking skills to quickly comprehend complex systems. - Juggle multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment. - Engage with individuals at all organizational levels. - Develop and enhance peer mentoring capabilities. - Provide outstanding phone and email support with effective verbal and written communication skills.
