Requirements
Must:
- I hold a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or a related technical field, from an ABET accredited institution.
- I have at least 8 years of relevant experience and/or equivalent educational background in trajectory analysis.
- I possess strong foundational knowledge in flight mechanics/dynamics and the simulation of aerospace vehicles.
- I have a solid grasp of statistical and probabilistic analysis.
- I am experienced in developing and optimizing 3-DOF and/or 6-DOF trajectory simulation models.
- I am familiar with trajectory analysis tools such as POST, OTIS, TTK, RRAT, TAOS, STK Astrogator, or Copernicus.
- I have experience in creating CONOPS for integration with mission operations and flight software.
- I am adept at conducting Monte Carlo (and/or probabilistic analyses) routines and data analysis.
- I can critically evaluate situations, assess complex systems, and navigate intricate requirements.
- I demonstrate effective oral and written communication abilities.
- I thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment and pay meticulous attention to detail to ensure mission safety and success.
- I am a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a minimum of DoD Secret security clearance.
Responsibilities
- I develop and refine 3-DOF and/or 6-DOF trajectory simulation models.
- I create CONOPS for seamless integration with mission operations and flight software.
- I perform engineering approximations for performance.
- I execute Monte Carlo (and/or probabilistic analyses) routines and data analysis to inform mission authorities of off-nominal trajectories, incorporating range safety, circular error probability, and expected casualty.
- I provide Systems Engineering with optimizations to balance performance and safety while upholding critical system constraints.

I am thrilled to announce that Leidos is on a mission to find a Lead Trajectory Analyst to become a key player in supporting the Multi-Service Advanced Capability Hypersonics Test Bed (MACH-TB) Flight Test Program within our Hypersonics Systems Division. The focus of the MACH-TB Program centers on developing rapid cadence, cost-effective flight-testing capabilities to quickly advance hypersonic Technology Readiness Levels. As an essential member of the MACH-TB Team, you will leverage digital and systems engineering practices and tools, including CAMEO, to identify challenges and develop potential solutions within complex hardware systems and programs. In this role, you will coordinate MACH-TB system engineering for prototype development and as-built configurations while interacting with customers in Crane, Indiana. As the Hypersonic Systems Lead Trajectory Analyst, you will lead launch vehicle trajectory modeling and flight safety analysis, ensuring compliance with range safety and public risk requirements, and refining analysis methodologies for various hypersonic test flight configurations. You will significantly influence mission design by generating and communicating data products that inform trajectory shaping and optimization, facilitating flight system design considerations while minimizing risks and costs.
