Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with over 8 years of relevant experience
- Extensive experience in software development with one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C++, JavaScript)
- Proven ability to enhance code quality through refactoring, testing, and minimizing technical debt
- Experience with software metrics and analysis tools (e.g., code coverage, complexity, static analysis)
- Residing in the Reston area and able to commute to the Leidos GHQ office. Flexibility for remote work is available, with on-site attendance as needed.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Responsibilities
- Drive the reuse of software and refactoring efforts across the sector to diminish duplication and elevate code quality
- Create and uphold software baselines and enhance transparency of code assets across various programs
- Define and assess engineering metrics (e.g., code coverage, complexity, language composition) to steer improvements
- Enhance the developer experience by refining tools, workflows, and methodologies
- Collaborate with teams to standardize and modernize software practices across different projects
- Evaluate and integrate new technologies and methodologies, scaling successful strategies
