Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a comparable field.
- Masters or Doctorate degree may substitute for the required experience.
- Over 10 years of experience in Mainframe development.
- Proficiency in IBM z/OS environments including JCL and COBOL development.
- Capable of obtaining and maintaining Public Trust clearance for contract requirements.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to customer standards and requirements while developing and maintaining code and database structures such as COBOL, REXX, JCL, DB2, and various mainframe utility tools.
- Conduct unit testing and validate outcomes against expectations.
- Create JCL and software code following customer-defined standards and best practices in software engineering.
- Assess impacts of database schema changes on existing software components.
- Troubleshoot and remedy application defects tied to business logic, middleware, or databases.
- Design, develop, test, debug, and implement advanced COBOL programs utilizing best practices and current technologies.
- Produce and refresh JCL for optimal batch processing.
- Analyze impacts of new operating systems or COBOL and Endevor versions on existing programs.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors, providing technical guidance to achieve strategic goals and improve business results.
