Requirements
Must:
- I hold a Bachelor’s degree and have 8+ years of relevant experience, or I possess a Master’s degree with 6+ years of prior relevant experience. Specific experience, education, and training may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- I can communicate effectively and clearly, both verbally and in written form.
- I possess DoD 8570 IAT Level II (SEC+ or equivalent) Certification.
- I hold a CCNA certification.
- I have experience analyzing VLAN, routing, IP addressing, and sub-netting.
- I have experience troubleshooting and configuring IP networks, utilizing at least one of the following routing methods: BGP, ISIS, OSPF, or static routing.
- I have worked with either service provider or enterprise IP networks, including interfaces on Cisco (ESR and ASR) and/or Juniper routers.
- I have experience with ports and protocols.
- I currently possess an active DoD Secret Security Clearance and am eligible for a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) to obtain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance.
- I have significant understanding and experience with Satellite Communications (SATCOM) architecture and signal flow.
- I have significant understanding and experience with the operation and configuration of MILSATCOM encryption devices.
Responsibilities
- I perform IP network support, including the configuration of switches, routers, firewalls, and voice equipment.
- I configure and troubleshoot IP networks using one or more routing methods, including BGP, ISIS, OSPF, or static routing.
- I analyze and plan VLAN, routing, IP addressing, and sub-netting.
- I provide IP satellite modem support, including the configuration and issuance of option/boot files.
- I work with DoD SATCOM Gateway facilities and deployed operators to troubleshoot and resolve SATCOM and IP network issues.
- I remotely access and de-access customers into the IP/SATCOM networks.
- I verify that equipment operates in the baseline configuration and react to alarms as necessary.
- I remotely provide global equipment configurations at DoD SATCOM Gateways utilizing Satellite Access Authorization (SAA) and Gateway Access Authorization (GAA).
- I provide technical support for the design, implementation, and integration of network changes and sustainment.
- I assist in planning and performing analytical research, design development, and other assignments in accordance with design, engineering, and customer specifications.
- I evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance current customer capabilities.
- I ensure efficient delivery of contract capabilities using industry standards and repeatable processes.
- I mitigate risks, control costs and schedule variances, and effectively manage large-scale, integrated projects.
- I perform a variety of analytical tasks, including hardware and software design and implementation utilizing various facility equipment.
- I provide mentorship and act as a technical resource for lower-level network engineers on the team.
Description
The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos has an exciting opening for an engineer to support the XVIII Airborne Corps HQS. This role involves using my expertise to aid the Corps' mission under the GSM -O II Contract, where I will provide critical Mission, SATCOM, and Network system engineering support for the Corps and its subordinate units.
While subject to change based on business needs, I understand that this job requisition is anticipated to remain open for at least 3 days, with a planned close date no earlier than 3 days after the original posting date of October 30, 2024.
The pay range for this position is $87,100.00 - $157,450.00. The listed pay range serves as a general guideline and is not a guarantee of compensation. Additional factors, such as job responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, will be considered in extending an offer.
