Requirements
Must:
We are looking for candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics, along with at least 4 years of relevant experience in RF signal processing, communications, or Electronic Warfare (EW) environments. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication and organizational skills, a keen attention to detail, and demonstrated experience in the following areas:
- Strong understanding of RF concepts, including RF testing, propagation, schematics, and link budgets, particularly in relation to over-the-air signal detection.
- Proficiency in communications waveform modulation theory, including techniques such as PSK and QAM.
- Knowledge of Forward Error Correction (FEC) methods, including LDPC, turbo codes, and Reed-Solomon coding.
- Hands-on experience with RF test equipment, such as spectrum/signal analyzers, function generators, and oscilloscopes.
- Experience in radio testing in both laboratory and outdoor environments (e.g., field or flight testing).
- Skilled in processing and interpreting complex data sets, with proficiency in object-oriented MATLAB programming or similar analytical tools.
- U.S. citizenship, the ability to obtain and maintain a Final Secret Clearance, and eligibility for a Top Secret clearance are required.
- You must either be a resident of Huntsville, Alabama, or be willing to relocate to the area.
Responsibilities
As an RF Communications Signal Processing Test Engineer, you will be an integral part of our dynamic engineering team, helping to shape the future of advanced communication systems for the Department of Defense (DoD). In this role, you will conduct in-depth analyses and studies to provide critical insights and recommendations, enabling our DoD customers to make informed decisions on next-generation communication solutions. Your expertise will guide government entities in designing and deploying advanced, cost-effective communication architectures that support and enhance the capabilities of the warfighter in real-world field environments.
Description
We prefer candidates who have experience and demonstrated skills in the following areas:
- A strong foundation in waveform modulation theory, including techniques such as PSK and QAM.
- Proficiency in signal modeling, filter and noise modeling, Fourier transforms, and general signal processing techniques.
- Practical experience with Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) and Line of Sight (LOS) communication systems.
The anticipated pay range for this position is between $85,150.00 and $153,925.00. Please note that the pay range is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation, as additional factors will be considered in extending an offer. We anticipate this job requisition will remain open for at least three days following the original posting date.
