Must:
- I have a Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, optics, or an equivalent field with 12+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 10+ years of experience, or a Doctorate with 8+ years of experience.
- I must be a U.S. citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- I am proficient in applied computational electromagnetics and antenna systems, and I possess expertise in RF device design using finite element-based design tools such as COMSOL, CST, or Lumerical.
- I have a strong understanding of material electrical and mechanical properties, and expertise in nascent RF device concepts, including metamaterials and time-varying systems.
- I am proficient in Windows, possess excellent communication skills, and have a proven ability to work directly with customers and deliver results.
- I am mission-oriented with a strong ability to guide a team towards goals and deliver real-world products.
- I am proficient with technical writing, documentation, and organization, and I have a robust sense of initiative, being a self-starter capable of working independently.
Responsibilities
- I will leverage my expertise in RF metamaterials to analyze trades in performance, size, weight, and power for disruptive RF payloads.
- I will utilize modeling tools to project performance versus power consumption trades for disruptive RF systems.
- I will collaborate with other RF engineers to evaluate and mature RF technologies and develop a pipeline to transition them into production and integration into deployable systems.
- I will contribute to developing a roadmap of novel RF technologies for future systems and explore nascent concepts.
Description
As a Principal RF Engineer at the Leidos Innovations Center in San Diego, CA, I will support a rapidly growing sector by designing, developing, and demonstrating new RF technologies that enhance performance in compact form factors for novel defense capabilities. I will initially work alongside current RF engineers to understand performance trades and investigate new material approaches, such as reconfigurable RF metamaterials. Additionally, I may serve as a Principal Investigator (PI) on Contract R&D efforts with the Government and work on novel concepts through internal R&D (IRAD) effort, potentially taking on supervisory roles. This position may offer occasional telework opportunities. My greatest work is ahead, and I am excited about the positive impact I will make in this field. The anticipated pay range for this position is $122,200.00 - $220,900.00, although this is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation. Factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, and internal equity may influence the final offer.
