Must:
We are looking for a strong candidate with the following essential skills:
- Advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts.
- Proficiency with Pega products and inter-product integration.
- Experience in custom development within Pega.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field. Additional years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
- A Master's or Doctorate degree may also replace required experience.
- At least 12 years of expertise in web component development using modern JavaScript, CSS, and CSS preprocessors, including SASS, LESS, ES 6+, and Stencil.js.
- Certification as a Pega Lead System Architect (LSA).
- A minimum of 7 years in constructing and implementing model-driven, enterprise-level business solutions and applications.
- Familiarity with implementing Pega Customer Service, Pega Knowledge Buddy, and at least one additional Pega product or solution.
- Experience presenting Pega capabilities, best practices, and recommendations to peer teams and client executives.
- Background in developing custom code to extend Pega functionalities.
- Knowledge in supporting and administering the Pega platform and working with the Pega data model.
- Demonstrated thought leadership in designing and implementing new solutions across the Pega platform.
- Experience functioning in Agile practices (e.g., SAFE, Scrum).
- Proficiency in various technologies including WebSphere, WebLogic, Tomcat, Apache, J2EE (JSP, Servlets, EJB, XML, Java), .Net, Oracle, DB2, MS SQL, and PostgreSQL.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, enabling clear articulation of technical solutions in business settings.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance as a contract requirement.
Responsibilities
As a Lead Pega System Architect, you will:
- Analyze and interpret business information and technical requirements into an architectural framework that presents solutions addressing complex business objectives.
- Establish and provide guidance on technical governance related to various domains and associated processes.
- Ensure optimal platform health by reviewing and guiding resolution of configurations and customizations that are misaligned with Pega’s leading practices.
- Collaborate with clients and the Pega team to establish governance for delivery operating models, ensuring successful launches, user adoption, and ongoing support.
- Focus on architectures that prioritize security, governance, risk, and compliance.
- Work closely with the client to comprehend their business needs, long-term vision, and short-term objectives to formulate a dynamic architecture for developing Pega applications and solutions.
- Lead clients towards prescriptive solution designs and navigate the technical implementation decision points.
- Partner with the Pega team (comprising developers and administrators) to discuss development requirements and challenges, creating architectures that address these and facilitate rapid development.
- Develop architectures that support solutions across multiple components of the Pega platform, determining and implementing solutions for new features, capabilities, and tool integrations based on client-defined system requirements.
- Additional responsibilities may include full-stack development, automated solution development, DevOps implementations, integrations and REST API automation, Agile development practices, automated testing and deployment, business analysis and design, and server/infrastructure management.
- Define scope, conduct requirements analysis, and oversee functional and technical design, application construction, product configuration, unit testing, UAT, and deployment to production.
- Collaborate and team up with clients, partners, and the Pega team on client sites with an unwavering focus on customer success.
- Offer support and technical governance centered on one or more projects at a single client.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert for the organization, proactively addressing ad-hoc inquiries.
- Provide guidance and support to junior and mid-level developers.
- Influence functional strategy by developing new solutions, processes, standards, or operational plans that elevate client competitiveness in the marketplace following best practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
