Responsibilities

- I will support console shifts (typically second and third shifts) in the Telescience Support Center at JSC, as required, for Research, Operations, and Integration (ROI) experiment sessions. - I will serve as the primary contractor point of contact to the MSFC Payload Rack Officer (PRO) and will interface with the Data Management Coordinator and other Huntsville Operations Support Center (HOSC) personnel. - I will write test plans, hardware operating procedures, and mission data requirements. - I will create, maintain, and publish the Increment-specific Data Requirement Document. - I will review Change Requests (CRs) and assess impacts to Hardware and Data Operations products and/or documents. - I will serve as the engineering subject matter expert for in-mission operations and anomaly resolution. - I will command functionality of the on-orbit Human Research Facility (HRF) Rack in support of crew operations. - I will provide training to Ground Support Personnel and crew members on HRF Rack operations. - I will perform data management for data collected on-orbit, distribute data to web-based repositories for Principal Investigator access, and conduct testing and verification activities. - I will serve as a liaison to ROI hardware and software teams.

Description

The Leidos Human Health and Performance Contract (HHPC) offers an exciting opportunity for a Payload Systems Engineer in Houston, Texas, at NASA Johnson Space Center (JSC). The Research Operations and Integration (ROI) Rack Payload Systems Engineer (PSE) will support International Space Station (ISS) human research science operations at JSC/NASA Mission Control. This position involves preflight and real-time engineering support and requires acting as a technical expert for research racks housing science hardware and consumables. US Citizenship or US Permanent Residency, along with the ability to successfully obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance, are required. The anticipated pay range for this position is $65,000.00 - $117,500.00. We understand that this range is a guideline and consider various factors for compensation, including job responsibilities, education, experience, and skills.
