Requirements
Must:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or a related technical field from an accredited institution.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience and/or equivalent education in trajectory analysis.
- Strong grasp of flight mechanics/dynamics and simulation of aerospace vehicles.
- A solid foundation in statistical/probabilistic analysis.
- Familiarity with the creation and optimization of 3-DOF and/or 6-DOF trajectory simulation models.
- Experience with trajectory analysis tools such as POST, OTIS, TTK, RRAT, TAOS, STK Astrogator, or Copernicus.
- Knowledge of Monte Carlo (and/or probabilistic analyses) routines and data analysis.
- An ability to critically assess situations, evaluate complex systems, and navigate detailed requirements.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- A collaborative mindset for working in a team-oriented environment.
- Keen attention to detail to ensure mission safety and success.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and capable of obtaining and maintaining a minimum of DoD Secret security clearance.
Responsibilities
As a member of our team, you will support the Lead Trajectory Analyst with:
- Developing and optimizing 3-DOF and/or 6-DOF trajectory simulation models.
- Creating Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) for integration with mission operations and flight software.
- Performing engineering approximations related to performance.
- Conducting Monte Carlo (and/or probabilistic analyses) routines and data evaluations to inform mission authorities about off-nominal trajectories, which include range safety, circular error probability, and expected casualty.
- Providing Systems Engineering with enhancements to balance performance and safety while adhering to critical system constraints.
