Requirements
Must:
- Required Clearance: TS/SCI with Poly
- I have at least 10 years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education. This equates to a Doctorate and 3 years, Master’s and 4 years, Bachelor’s and 6 years, Associates and 8 years, or a HS diploma and 10 years.
- Additional required qualifications include compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2.
Responsibilities
- I may supervise other network support and client server specialists and plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures.
- I will participate in the evaluation of new network technologies and make recommendations to the network architecture team regarding the integration of these technologies into the existing network.
- I will ensure that plans for hardware and communications are adequate and develop methodologies for analysis, testing, and support of LAN and WAN networks.
- My duties include diagnosing hardware and software problems and replacing defective components.
- I will support operations and maintain activities and administer networks, including hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
- It will be my responsibility to monitor the performance of systems and networks, support routine network startup and shutdown procedures, and maintain control records.
- I will configure, test hardware, networking software, and operating system software.
- I will prepare technical proposals for presentation to the engineering review boards for adding new technologies to the network and perform a full range of upgrades in accordance with existing network architecture.
- I will review user requests for upgrades or additions to the network, assess their impact on network performance, and provide guidance on practical technical approaches.
- I will perform long-term O&M activities, including tier 3 troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Utilizing complex network analysis tools, I will identify and correct problems in the network while maintaining logs and records associated with reported issues.
- I will prepare troubleshooting procedures for restoring the network to optimal performance levels and provide fault management for the network while supporting performance management functions.
- I will respond, isolate, and resolve network troubles, monitor alarms, and alerts to identify network elements causing degradation or failure.
- I’ll execute reporting functions and data input associated with network management and monitor the security posture of the network, reporting suspected violations to the designated authority.
- I will coordinate with configuration management and implementation teams, perform operator-level maintenance on components for network management systems, and analyze network characteristics to recommend procurement, removals, and modifications to network components.
- I will optimize network topologies and site configurations, plan installations, transitions, and cutovers of network components and capabilities, and coordinate requirements with users and suppliers.
- I will organize and direct network installations on site surveys, assess and document current site network configuration and user requirements, and maintain operating systems, communications software, database packages, compilers, assemblers, and utility programs.
- I will apply software, hardware, and standards information technology skills in analysis, specification, development, integration, and acquisition of open systems for Information Management (IM) applications.
- Ensuring compliance with standards for open systems architectures, reference models, and profiles of standards will be within my scope of responsibilities.
- I may evaluate and recommend COTS applications and methodologies for interoperable, portable, and scalable IT solutions.
- I may also have up to 10% COMSEC responsibilities as needed and can be subject to after-hours calls for incident resolution.

The anticipated pay range for this position is $68,900.00 - $124,550.00. While this range is a general guideline, it may vary based on factors including job responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other relevant considerations.
