Requirements
Must:
We require candidates to hold an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance. Additionally, a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field combined with 4+ years of applicable experience is essential, or 7+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree. Candidates must possess a strong understanding of network protocols, architecture, and technologies (such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN). Hands-on experience with network troubleshooting and performance optimization is a must.
Proficiency in network monitoring and management tools (like OpenText NOM, Nagios, PRTG Network Monitor, and Wireshark) is required. Familiarity with scripting languages (such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell) for automation and integration with network tools is necessary, as is experience with automation tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef. Candidates should also be able to create and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and policies. Relevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or CompTIA Network+ are highly preferred.
Responsibilities
In the role of Network Tools Administrator, my responsibilities include installing, configuring, upgrading, and patching network monitoring and management tools. I monitor network performance, analyze traffic patterns, and manage alerts for network anomalies, ensuring a timely response. I maintain an up-to-date inventory of all network hardware and software assets—including routers, switches, servers, firewalls, and licenses—and ensure all changes are accurately recorded and updated in real-time.
Working closely with network engineers, IT support teams, and other stakeholders, I ensure that network inventory needs are met. I conduct continuous monitoring and fine-tuning of Information Systems while analyzing network usage, addressing user complaints, and investigating traffic interruptions. I also create, update, and comply with SOPs and other relevant documentation.
