Requirements
Must:
- 1-4 years of prior relevant experience
- Must be a US Citizen with a DoD Secret Clearance
- 8570 Compliant meeting the IAT level certification requirements
- Familiarity with ITIL best practices (ITIL Foundations)
- Knowledge of tools used in an Enterprise organization that aids in Event Management, Incident Management, and Performance Management
- Experience in a DOD environment and understands customer communication
- Experience in a data center environment
- Ability to perform well under pressure and calm end users
- Hands-on experience working with DoD networks, including NIPR and SIPR
- Willingness to perform shift work; Shift Schedule: Thursday β Saturday and every other Wednesday from 12 AM β 12 PM HST
Responsibilities
- As a Network Monitoring Specialist, I am responsible for monitoring events and incidents that affect server and service health across the Enterprise and documenting outage information, including actions taken to respond to incidents and resolve outages.
- I will monitor multiple server solutions that are critical to the functionality of users performing their missions daily.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential in this role.
- I utilize internal systems to report incidents to leadership and escalate any significant alerts/events requiring action.
- I perform initial assessments and triage on the criticality and impact of events, engaging the appropriate processes and personnel when escalation outside of Operations Center is needed.
- Supporting Site Operations and other external organizations through problem resolution skills and independent decision-making is part of my role.
- My aim is to maintain timely responses (5 minutes or less) to network infrastructure warning, critical, and fatal event alert notices.
- I ensure the Critical Situation Manager is kept informed of all details regarding significant events or incidents.
Description
At Leidos, we are seeking a Network Monitor Specialist to support our NMCI/SMIT program, focusing on network engineering support for various Navy programs, including planning, designing, and evaluating components of the Navyβs NMCI network. The Leidos team delivers the core backbone of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet, which includes cybersecurity services, network operations, service desk, and data transport. By unifying shore-based networks and data management, our efforts aim to enhance capability and service while achieving significant cost savings under one enterprise network. We offer a competitive hourly range for this position, between $28.00/hour - $34.00/hour, with salary determined by education, experience, skills, and market data.
