Requirements
Must:
We require a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related technical field, along with 8-12 years of relevant experience. Additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. You must possess an active and current DoD Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI. We also expect experience troubleshooting RHEL and various platforms, software packages, and associated databases. Familiarity with TCP/IP ports and protocols is essential. Experience working in a Network Security Operations Center (NSOC), Network Operations Center (NOC), or Security Operations Center (SOC) is a plus. Furthermore, we look for candidates who have experience developing and optimizing commercial application performance metrics in an IT Operations Management (ITOM) platform. Finally, a current DoD 8140 certification (e.g., A+ CE; Security+; CCNA-Security; CND; Network+; CySA+; CASP; CCNP; CISA; CISSP) is required.
Responsibilities
As the Top Secret cleared NSOC Systems Engineer, I will be responsible for preventing, detecting, evaluating, analyzing, and mitigating system performance issues to maintain access to and functionality of network hosts, data, voice, and key mission systems. Using Service Desk tickets and NSOC monitoring tools, I will respond to and conduct troubleshooting of detected service outages and events. I will also be responsible for updating assigned trouble tickets through resolution and, if necessary, coordinating with software vendors, hardware vendors, or NSOC operations to resolve issues. I will interact with multiple teams, including system administrators and application engineers, to identify and correct core problems. Furthermore, I will develop and document updates to NSOC Knowledge Management tools, scripts, policies, and automated responses to continually improve system performance. I will also create artifacts supporting Information Assurance and Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes.
Description
The position may require infrequent short-term travel to CONUS and OCONUS sites, and there may be occasions requiring a shift in my workday schedule to support exercises on weekends. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field, experience with virtualized environments, and familiarity with cloud computing and infrastructure security. Additional certifications such as RHEL administrator certification and experience with VoIP system configuration and Agile program membership would be advantageous.
Pay Range:
Our pay range for this position is between $89,700.00 and $162,150.00. Please note that this range serves only as a general guideline and does not guarantee compensation, as various factors are considered, including job responsibilities, experience, and market alignment.
