Requirements
Must:
- I require experience interacting with customers to handle service inquiries and problems.
- I expect candidates to have experience working as a Tier 2 & Tier 3 system administrator/engineer.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of IC IT standards and best practices.
- I look for experience troubleshooting issues in a growing environment.
- Expertise with ForcePoint’s Trusted Thin Client (TTC) system or similar Multi-level Security (MLS) systems is essential.
- Candidates should have proficiency in managing Distribution Consoles (DCs) in multiple cluster configurations.
- Experience managing license files to add or remove thin clients is necessary.
- I value experience managing routes within clusters for remote users and new capabilities.
- Extensive experience troubleshooting connectivity issues between thin clients and DCs, as well as between DCs and separate domain resources, is required.
- Candidates need to have experience implementing system patches and upgrades with minimal downtime to customers.
- I expect candidates to have experience with log reviews, incident analysis, and identification of issue trends.
- The ability to manage time effectively is crucial.
- Strong oral and written communication skills are important.
- A track record of working effectively within a team and providing support to peers toward improved processes and results is desirable.
- Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) solutions such as ServiceNow, Remedy, or other solutions is a plus.
- Candidates must meet DoDM 8140.03 (previously DoD 8570) IT System Admin Intermediate certification requirements (Cloud+, GICSP, SSCP, Security+ CE, GSEC, or higher).
- No industry certifications are required for this position though training on ForcePoint’s Trusted Thin Client is beneficial.
Responsibilities
- I need you to oversee the implementation of new capabilities, troubleshoot existing services, and maintain the security and operability of production systems.
- You will maintain the NGDE thin client back-end infrastructure and provide customer support for thin clients, Distribution Consoles, NGDE profiles, license files, routes, and session connections.
- I expect you to manage O&M activities, including weekly license file updates, monthly reports on license usage, planning, and scheduling preventive maintenance, and briefing the Change Control Board (CCB) as required for major changes to the production environment.
- Coordination with customers and stakeholders to collect data and conduct an analysis of complex system problems, developing, documenting, and implementing solutions will be part of your role.
- You will need to develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for internal team use and update Knowledge Articles (KA) for customers and helpdesk personnel.
- Overseeing knowledge management for the team, including coordinating new training opportunities, training junior staff on new capabilities, and seeking alternative training methods if structured training courses are unavailable, will fall under your responsibilities.
- I expect you to interface with the customer’s Engineering team and vendor support as needed for the resolution of issues and problems with the design, implementation, or bugs in the environment.
- Establishing comprehensive availability and capacity management solutions using lessons learned will be crucial.
- You will manage major projects, including deploying large volumes of Thin Client systems, upgrading Distribution Console software, and expanding capabilities to new enclaves.
- Providing follow-up reports (technical findings, feedback, resolution steps taken, After Action Reports (AAR)) for root cause analysis, engineering technical assessment, and process improvement initiatives is essential.
- Supporting customer requirements in a 24/7/365 mission environment will be necessary.
- You will update operations and maintenance documentation for 24/7/365 IT Operations Center watch personnel to assist with troubleshooting and root cause analysis after hours.
Description
Leidos is seeking a Senior System Administrator to support a large enterprise IT contract for the DOD. In this role, you will support operations across multiple geographic locations, providing systems and software operations and maintenance support in a large, multi-enclave enterprise environment. You will maintain the Next Generation Desktop Environment (NGDE) based on ForcePoint’s Trusted Thin Client (TTC) system, maintain the Distribution Consoles, clusters, and other back-end components for a multi-level thin client solution, and troubleshoot connectivity for customers.
