Linux Systems Administrator - Junior

- I am responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems. As a system administrator, I will ensure the uptime, performance, resources, and security of the computers I manage meet the needs of users. - My role may involve one or more of the following areas: - As a database administrator (DBA), I will maintain a database system and be responsible for the integrity of the data and the efficiency and performance of the system. - As a network administrator, I will maintain network infrastructure such as switches and routers, and diagnose problems with these or with the behavior of network-attached computers. - As a security administrator, I will specialize in computer and network security, including the administration of security devices such as firewalls and consulting on general security measures. - As a web administrator, I will maintain web server services that allow for internal or external access to websites, managing multiple sites, administering security, and configuring necessary components and software. - I may also be involved in software change management. - As a system programmer, I will create, modify, and test the code, forms, and scripts that allow computer applications to run and may also develop and write computer programs to store, locate, and retrieve specific documents, data, and information. - As a computer operator, I will perform routine maintenance and upkeep, such as changing backup tapes or replacing failed drives. - I will apply fundamental concepts, processes, practices, and procedures on technical assignments, performing work that requires practical experience and training, under supervision.
