Must:
- I hold a BS Degree and have over 12 years of experience in software engineering, or I possess a Master's Degree with 10+ years of experience. I may also consider additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- I am capable of obtaining a Public Trust clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
- I have a strong programming background with practical product development experience in C#.
- I possess a deep understanding of object-oriented design (OOD) principles and practices.
- I have proven experience in software architecture and leadership roles.
- I am well-versed in Agile methodologies, including Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Continuous Integration.
- I can create detailed design documentation, requirements specifications, and other technical documentation.
- I demonstrate strong troubleshooting and debugging capabilities.
- I possess effective communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional team settings.
- I can clearly articulate technical trade-offs and solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
- I have experience in developing project estimates for budget and scheduling, including contributions to sustaining engineering and addressing technical debt.
- I am open to international travel, with the expectation that travel will generally be less than 10% of my time.
Responsibilities
- I will contribute to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of services, simulators, and diagnostics (WPF and Blazor) using C#.
- I will provide technical leadership by guiding architectural decisions and ensuring best practices while fostering team collaboration and shared ownership of technical solutions.
- I will lead the integration of tools, including AI-driven software development tools, to enhance productivity and spur innovation.
- I will develop software that adheres to industry security standards, helping to ensure compliance within the codebase and coding practices.
- I will apply object-oriented design principles to maintain a reusable and maintainable codebase.
- I will implement TDD and Continuous Integration practices to ensure the delivery of high-quality, rigorously tested code.
- I will troubleshoot issues, assist Field Service Engineers in problem resolution, and drive innovation through research and the application of best practices.
- I will support business development activities including solutioning and technical proposal work, evaluating trade-offs between cost, quality, and delivery speed for team members.
- I will engage with customers to explain approaches, limitations, and solutions, answering their technical queries to collaboratively meet their needs.
- I will develop project estimates for budgeting and scheduling, considering factors like sustaining engineering and obsolescence management.

Our SES unit specializes in designing and manufacturing advanced security equipment used at border crossings, airports, and seaports. We seek candidates local to Vista, CA, who are comfortable with a hybrid work schedule (three days remote, two days onsite).
