Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline. Additional relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
- 8-12 years of professional IT experience, with at least 6+ years dedicated to Information Security Engineering, including a minimum of 2 years focused on cloud security architecture.
- Capability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or higher security clearance (if necessary for mission requirements).
- Current, advanced security certification required, such as CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional) and Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500).
- Profound expertise in securing Azure services, cloud architectures, and the shared responsibility model. Expert knowledge on implementing NIST SP security controls in an Azure Government context.
- Extensive experience with Azure Active Directory (Azure AD/Entra ID), conditional access, and hybrid identity solutions.
- Practical experience with security controls implementation using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Bicep.
- In-depth hands-on experience securing container and orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, AKS, EKS).
- Strong scripting skills in PowerShell/Bash and/or Python.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities to swiftly diagnose and resolve intricate security challenges.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement secure, scalable cloud infrastructure on the Azure platform, adhering to Zero Trust principles and layered defense strategies.
- Architect and maintain secure Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) solutions, including federated identity and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
- Lead the integration of security practices within CI/CD pipelines to facilitate automated security testing and vulnerability scanning.
- Establish, enforce, and automate cloud security policies using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and cloud-native services.
- Develop and spearhead compliance strategies for federal frameworks like FedRAMP and NIST.
- Act as the primary security liaison during the Authority to Operate (ATO) process, implementing necessary controls and collaborating with authorizing officials.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of system security documentation, including System Security Plans and compliance workbooks.
- Represent Cybersecurity on Change Control Boards to evaluate and ensure compliance of system changes before deployment.
- Conduct security control assessments, support audits, and manage the development of Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&M) findings.
- Conduct comprehensive threat modeling and vulnerability management to evaluate risks associated with new services and architectural changes.
- Design and implement continuous monitoring solutions, utilizing advanced security tools.
- Collaborate across various teams, providing technical authority on security posture changes.
- Stay informed on emerging cloud threats and recommend proactive security strategies.
