Lead Linux Systems Administrator

- I will design, sustain, and support operations and maintenance activities for a large enclave that consists of diverse hardware, software, and network components including server architecture, virtual machines, managed switches, NAS, VLANs, and VPNs. - I will develop and execute strategies to transition existing customers to new architecture and technologies with minimal disruption. - I'll evaluate new equipment and technologies that could be integrated into our standard agency solutions. - My tasks include administering networks, involving the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network devices, setting up firewalls, and troubleshooting multi-hop connectivity, throughput, and latency issues. - I will ensure secure infrastructure, manage vulnerability corrections, uphold data security, and handle backups and recovery. - I will provide user-level support, interface with system-savvy developers and analysts, and troubleshoot network and virtual system anomalies. - I will maintain documentation related to the enclave, including network diagrams, system names, IP addresses, and provide monthly reports detailing system activity and outages. - Experience in deploying and maintaining nginx, as well as system monitoring platforms like OpenVAS, Prometheus, and Grafana is crucial. Additionally, familiarity with SELinux and FIPS standards will be beneficial.
