Lead Firewall Engineer - Network Security Expert

- Design, implement, and manage firewall solutions using Cisco ASA/Firepower, Juniper SRX, and Palo Alto - Monitor firewall performance and security logs to detect and address potential threats - Create and uphold network security policies and procedures - Conduct system audits to ensure adherence to standards and regulations - Collaborate with other IT, Security, and Network teams to integrate firewall solutions - Troubleshoot and resolve network and firewall issues efficiently while documenting them in ticketing systems - Maintain and update firewall configurations, including security policies and firewall ACLs as approved by Change Management - Serve as a People Leader for staff involved in the Firewall Task Area: - Act as the primary contact for all firewall-related tasks, operations, projects, and assessments - Ensure timely delivery of all tasks - Provide written reports and oral briefings to the Government Task Lead and PMO Team - Perform annual performance reviews with periodic check-ins - Validate and approve time charging for Leidos and vendor personnel - Offer coaching and mentoring to team members - Develop and implement continual service improvement technical strategies to enhance operational processes and achieve strategic project goals
