Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
- 4+ years of relevant work experience or a Masters Degree with 2+ years of experience
- Proven experience in building or supporting shared platforms, developer platforms, or automation frameworks
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions
- Experience with cloud platforms including AWS
- Proficient in scripting or programming languages like Python or Bash
- Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of security tools and practices including vulnerability scanning, secrets management, and identity/access management
- Familiarity with IaC tools like Terraform
- Understanding of infrastructure-as-code and configuration management tools
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust
- U.S. citizenship is required
- Must successfully pass future background checks as mandated by the government client
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and sustain a Common Automation Platform that supports CI/CD, security, and infrastructure automation
- Create reusable automation frameworks, templates, and pipelines for enterprise-wide implementation
- Integrate platform functionalities with both internal and external systems using APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures
- Embed security measures and DevSecOps best practices within platform services and workflows
- Utilize infrastructure-as-code (IaC) to set up and manage scalable environments
- Provide self-service features for development teams through automation and platform tools
- Conduct automated security testing including SAST, DAST, container, and dependency scanning
- Support container workloads utilizing Docker and Kubernetes
- Leverage AI/ML capabilities to enhance automation (e.g., intelligent pipeline optimization, anomaly detection, auto-remediation)
- Collaborate with engineering, security, and operations teams to promote platform usage and standardization
- Monitor platform performance, reliability, and utilization metrics, and perpetually enhance functionalities
- Ensure compliance with federal security standards and company policies

This role is critical as it supports the creation of a mission-ready automation solution anchored in a hybrid cloud data mesh architecture. As part of a Scaled Agile development organization, you will help integrate established, globally deployed technologies with modern cloud-native and AI-driven capabilities. We are located in Gaithersburg, MD, and this hybrid position entails three days onsite and two days remote work.
