Requirements
Must:
- I possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field, focusing on security or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 6 years in enterprise data and information management. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of my degree.
- I have over 4 years of experience in real-time and batched scalable enterprise data architecture processes and Enterprise Information Management technologies.
- I bring 2+ years of experience with container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes (desired).
- I have hands-on data engineering experience with big data processing frameworks like Apache Spark.
- I am experienced in integrating enterprise data solutions with access control services to ensure secure data governance.
- I possess strong knowledge of agile and DevSecOps methodologies as applied to Enterprise Data Management.
- I have experience conducting Risk Management Framework (RMF) security assessments for data management environments.
- I can design, implement, and optimize data pipelines supporting both batch and streaming data services.
- I am proficient in metadata management, data tagging, data cataloging, and data governance frameworks.
- I have a strong understanding of security information infrastructure, platforms, and software to ensure secure and efficient data operations.
Responsibilities
- I will apply agile and DevSecOps methodologies to Enterprise Data Management for both batch and streaming services.
- I will conduct Risk Management Framework (RMF) security assessments related to Enterprise Data Management, ensuring compliance and adherence to security best practices.
- I will support Enterprise Information Management services including metadata management, data tagging, and data cataloging.
- I will design, implement, and optimize data pipeline services tailored to mission needs and objectives.
- I will develop and maintain security information infrastructure, platforms, and software to support secure and efficient data management.
- I will collaborate with engineering and cybersecurity teams to ensure data integrity, availability, and confidentiality.
- I will utilize automation and modern data engineering tools to streamline data ingestion, transformation, and storage.
- I will ensure adherence to DoD data security standards and best practices in handling mission-critical data.

We have an opening for a Lead Data Engineer supporting the SABRE program at Hanscom AFB, MA. As the Lead Data Engineer, I will develop pipelines, structure datasets, and optimize data strategies to support real-time USAF mission operations, turning raw data into actionable intelligence that supports national security.

Preferred qualifications include certifications such as Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer, AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty, and experience implementing enterprise data lakes for DoD/USAF environments.
The pay range for this position is $85,150.00 - $153,925.00, serving as a general guideline only, and not a guarantee of compensation. Factors considered in extending an offer include responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and market alignment.
