Intrusion Detection Systems Specialist

As an Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) Engineer, I will manage, configure, and maintain Snort 3.x servers and applications. My daily tasks will include monitoring and optimizing network intrusion detection platform performance, ensuring the high availability and reliability of IDS infrastructure, and executing necessary system updates, patches, and upgrades. I will create, test, and maintain YARA signatures for malware detection while developing and fine-tuning Snort rules to identify emerging threats. Collaborating with the Security Operations team on threat detection and responses will be a key aspect of my role, as will participating in incident response activities when network intrusions are detected. Furthermore, I will document procedures, configurations, and security findings. Beyond technical responsibilities, I will utilize Unix/Linux command line operations for IDS and security tool management, automating routine tasks through scripting and configuration management while troubleshooting system and application issues independently. ###
