Requirements
Must:
We are looking for candidates with a Bachelor’s degree and at least 12 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree coupled with 10 years of experience in the field. Applicants should possess expertise in Oracle database management, including upgrades and maintenance. Proficiency in SQL, PostgreSQL, and familiarity with various database types is essential. The ability to integrate diverse data types into cloud containers, such as AWS S3, is also required. A strong understanding of database management systems (DBMS) and design principles is necessary, along with experience in database migrations and connections to data lakes or repositories. Candidates must be eligible to obtain a DHS EOD SCI clearance.
Responsibilities
As a Database Engineer, my expectations for you include:
- Maintaining and supporting the backend database infrastructure for the Insider Threat Program (ITP).
- Performing routine maintenance tasks, such as reindexing, backups, transaction log truncation, and cluster management.
- Designing and implementing database encryption solutions, such as Transparent Data Encryption (TDE).
- Documenting and maintaining configuration baselines for the database.
- Developing and executing system recapitalization plans to support capacity growth.
- Serving as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all database infrastructure.
- Creating and optimizing stored procedures, queries, and views.
- Supporting data warehouse features and integrations.
- Optimizing database schemas to ensure referential integrity, cascading transactions, indexing, and overall performance.
