Requirements
Must:
- Active DoD TS/SCI clearance
- Current DoD 8140-compliant security certification; ability to obtain CE certification within 6 months
- Bachelors degree and 6+ years of cybersecurity ISSO experience (or equivalent experience/certifications)
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity policies, principles, and best practices
- Experience in creating RMF package documentation
- Comprehensive knowledge of DoDI 8510.01, NIST 800-53, and the ATO process
- Familiarity with Assessment & Authorization (A&A) documentation and audits
- Understanding of STIGs, CIS Benchmarks, and secure configurations
- Experience in conducting risk and vulnerability assessments and documenting mitigation steps
- Proficiency with automated scanning tools such as Tenable Nessus, SCAP, or similar
- Experience in security evaluations, audits, and reviews
- Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies swiftly
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Capacity to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting
Responsibilities
- Carrying out full ISSO duties by establishing and managing security systems, policies, and procedures in accordance with government directives and contractual obligations
- Performing security audits and compliance inspections under DoDI 8510.01
- Conducting risk and vulnerability evaluations on Cisco, Juniper, Windows, and Linux systems
- Fostering security awareness and conveying deficiencies to the ISSM and ISSO team
- Advising and implementing security programs to ensure users are knowledgeable and compliant with cybersecurity policies
- Evaluating security incidents, assessing impact, and enacting corrective measures
- Guaranteeing disciplined application of cybersecurity principles across all IT services
- Assisting in the development of RMF documentation, including SSPs, SOPs, POAMs, and security assessments
