Information Systems Security Engineer - Hickam Afb

- Support mission-critical applications throughout the full ATO lifecycle in accordance with customer security policies - Lead security engineering initiatives and contribute to system design focusing on secure architecture - Ensure ATO packages comply with RMF and DoD security guidelines by collaborating closely with technical leads, developers, and system owners - Provide expert ISSE guidance across engineering tasks and projects - Define system functions, information types, operating environments, and security requirements - Generate security artifacts and evidence for RMF control validation - Review and adapt security controls to guarantee adequate protection - Determine assurance measures to fulfill system assurance specifications - Design and implement security controls and best practices, including Zero Trust Architecture - Conduct A&A activities and coordinate with DAO representatives and security teams - Create and update RMF documentation and artifacts in eMASS - Review system audit logs and take corrective actions when necessary - Engage in security monitoring, audits, and control assessments using enterprise tools - Deliver technical briefings and TEMs to convey security concepts to non-technical stakeholders - Develop security assessment criteria to ensure development teams satisfy A&A expectations - Ensure adherence to encryption standards and secure communications - Stay informed about emerging security trends and technologies to support future mission requirements - Mentor team members and facilitate project execution across the security engineering team
