Responsibilities

In this role, I will have you install, configure, service, repair, and maintain Information Technology (IT) systems in both a stand-alone and client-server environment, including Microsoft (MS) server, Defense Message Systems (DMS), and other authorized IT systems. Your responsibilities will include evaluating and resolving customer Information System problems, effecting required hardware upgrades and repairs to maintain mission capability, and installing and configuring wireless hubs, routers, switches, and various transmission media. You will also be responsible for ensuring the proper installation and configuration of workstation hardware and software for efficient operation on the network. Additionally, you will install, optimize, and troubleshoot Local Area Networks (LAN) and Base Area Networks (BAN), and have experience with Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6), Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs), Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), and Network Address Translation (NAT).

Description

Leidos is looking to hire an IT Specialist Junior in Miramar, CA to join our team. As part of the SMIT program, the largest IT services program for the Navy, we deliver the core backbone of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet, which includes cybersecurity services, network operations, service desk, and data transport. Our ultimate goal is to support the Navy in unifying its shore-based networks and data management to enhance capability and service while also saving significant costs by concentrating our efforts under one enterprise network. The hourly rate range for this position is $30/hour - $33/hour. Please note that this job requisition will remain open for at least 3 days, with an anticipated close date not earlier than 3 days after the original posting date. The compensation for this position will be determined based on factors such as responsibilities, education, experience, and internal equity.
