Requirements

Must:
- Active US government Secret clearance. - Ability to work full-time at our facility in Arlington, VA. - Experience with FPGA Integrated Design Environment toolsets such as Xilinx Vivado and Mentor Graphics ModelSim. - Familiarity with the latest System on a Chip (SoC) implementations including Xilinx Zynq Ultrascale+, Intel Stratix-10, and Xilinx RFSoC. - Proficiency in hardware description languages, such as HDL (VHDL, Verilog) and/or MATLAB models. - Competence in generating and verifying design constraints, in addition to evaluating synthesis and timing performance reports. - Hands-on design and testing experience with signal processing concepts such as FFTs, channelizers, digital filters, digital modulation, and their integration into new or existing modular HDL designs. - Knowledge of common signaling standards, typical IP hard macros like SERDES, PLLS, and protocols such as PCIe, JESD204B, LVDS, etc. - Expertise in hardware integration, testing, and debugging tools including high-speed logic analyzers, scopes, and spectrum analyzers. - A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. - A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership role.

Responsibilities

- Lead a firmware design team to create, integrate, and test complex DSP FPGA designs for Electronic Warfare (EW) sensor systems. - Assess project firmware needs and craft solutions to meet those needs, effectively communicating designs to program leadership. - Develop and implement new firmware, troubleshoot to ensure proper function, and assess performance as needed. - Integrate client feedback into firmware revisions while managing budget and time constraints. - Keep the firmware team informed of technological advancements and industry best practices. - Spearhead the design and development of innovative reconfigurable Software-Defined Radio (SDR) architectures, sensor systems, and data acquisition for government agencies, covering diverse deployment environments. - Analyze schematic diagrams for high-speed digital and/or analog circuitry in FPGA-centric systems. - Create and maintain requirements documents, engineering drawings, and configuration management policies for FPGA projects. - Formulate project test plans and procedures, providing both test planning support and assistance in lab and field testing execution. - Conduct experimental tests on the latest FPGA and SoC evaluation boards, analyze results, and develop specifications for selecting next-generation components for deliverable systems. - Be prepared for occasional travel and work at remote sites for limited durations. - Provide status reports to project managers and/or division production managers as needed.

Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in writing test software using C/C++ or assembly language for design validation. - Familiarity with high-speed design techniques (greater than 20GHz). - Experience in SoC design based on ARM or RISC-V embedded processors. - Proven expertise in the development of military/aerospace high-reliability electronic warfare products, particularly for radiation-hardened, space-grade FPGA circuit card design. - Subject matter expert in high-speed digital hardware, embedded firmware & software, and miniaturized high-performance systems for EW applications. - Expertise in optimal thermal management for FPGA circuit card designs intended for high-altitude conduction-cooled applications. - Capability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
