Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 4 years relevant experience; or a Masters degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience
- 4+ years of experience in Kafka, Java, RESTful services, AWS, and full stack development
- Proficient in software development using Python, Java, SQL, and knowledgeable in HTML and JavaScript
- Familiar with BI tools such as Kibana and technologies including Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kafka, NiFi, and Databricks
- Strong understanding of event streaming and Kafka integration
- Experience in application integration design with excellent communication skills for collaboration across virtual teams
- Skilled in detailed software design, especially in ksql or kstreams
- Proven ability to follow a software development lifecycle and maintain production-quality code
- Experience with version control systems like Git and Bitbucket
- Knowledge of software engineering principles and practices
- Competent in UNIX command line platforms
- Capable of developing DoD requirements, traceability documents, and systems engineering documentation
- Active Secret security clearance or higher
- Willingness to obtain Security+ certification or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT II certification within 30 days of hire
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement integration solutions for the GAINS project, focusing on Kafka and Elastic as primary data architecture platforms and integrating with additional technologies such as Databricks
- Integrate various data sources into Confluent (Kafka), Elastic, and Databricks platforms, and establish Kafka system integrations between Elasticsearch/Logstash and other systems
- Create Kafka system integrations and custom connectors, utilizing ksqlDB and Kafka Streams for data processing in alignment with design specifications
- Deploy and manage Kafka clusters on Kubernetes across multi-site environments in both on-premise and cloud settings
- Automate the entire software lifecycle, from design and development to testing and deployment in production environments
- Design and construct application deployment pipelines, utilizing Kubernetes and Docker for containerization and automated testing pipelines
