Description

Leidos is looking for a Data Center Technician to assist in supporting the Service Management, Integration, and Transport (SMIT) program, which runs the Navy’s largest IT services initiative. Under SMIT, we deliver the foundational infrastructure of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet, encompassing cybersecurity, network operations, service desk support, and data transport. The primary goal of the program is to unify the Navy’s shore-based networks and data management to enhance service delivery and achieve cost efficiencies through a consolidated enterprise network. The ideal candidate will be required to manage and maintain both physical and virtual infrastructures, ensuring system and service availability and reliability. Tasks will also involve responding to system alerts and incidents, performing server patching and upgrades, and escalating issues when necessary. Additionally, I expect the technician to provide root cause analysis, document shift activities, and facilitate thorough hand-offs, including timely incident notifications to government representatives. Physical requirements include the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs for distances of 100 feet, working in confined and noisy spaces, and operating basic hand tools. A valid state driver's license is essential for driving corporate vehicles to various locations for project work and troubleshooting. Pay Rate: $37-43 per hour.
