Must:
We require the following qualifications for the Cyber Security Engineer position:
- Active TS/SCI with polygraph.
- A Master’s degree along with 15 or more years of prior relevant experience.
- Expertise with at least one of the following tools: Splunk, HBSS/McAfee, Rapid7.
- Proven experience in implementing and managing SIEM (e.g., Splunk) and end-point security (IDS/IPS and HBSS).
- Deep knowledge of networking protocols, such as TCP/IP and LAN/WAN concepts.
- Proficiency in automation tools (e.g., Ansible, CloudFormation).
- Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and outstanding problem-solving skills.
- Awareness of current cybersecurity trends and hacking techniques.
Responsibilities
In this role, the Cyber Security Engineer will:
- Plan, implement, manage, monitor, and upgrade security measures and tools for the protection of information systems and networks, while automating repeatable tasks in a consultative role.
- Design, configure, implement, troubleshoot, and maintain all security platforms and their associated software, such as firewalls (Security Groups), intrusion detection/intrusion prevention systems, anti-virus/malware tools (HBSS), cryptography systems (Vormetric), SIEM (Splunk), and Mobile Device Management (MDM).
- Formulate systems and methodologies to respond to security-related events and assist in the remediation efforts of cybersecurity incidents, such as system or network breaches and malware attacks.
- Participate in the change management process.
- Coordinate and monitor log analysis for our managed services offerings, ensuring that customer policy and security requirements are met.
Description
We are seeking a Cyber Security Engineer (SME) responsible for protecting our customers’ information systems and networks from potential cyber-attacks. You will work directly with Team leads, developers, and operations personnel throughout a DevSecOps life cycle, focusing on both policy and technical implementation of technologies.
Preferred qualifications include experience with additional security tools and processes such as IDS/IPS, VPN, Webinspect, and Appdetective, along with skills in incident detection, response and forensics activities. Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, PowerShell), Cloud Computing Technologies/Amazon Web Services (AWS), and familiarity with Agile Software Development are also valued.
The pay range for this position is $144,300.00 - $260,850.00. While this is a general guideline, compensation may vary based on responsibilities, education, experience, and other factors.
