Requirements
Must:
- I hold a Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 10+ years; specific experience, education, and training may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- I have experience in remotely configuring networking or transport devices.
- I possess strong experience with Cisco SD-WAN (Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN/Viptela or Meraki).
- I have expertise in routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and WAN technologies.
- I can interpret network topology diagrams and implement configuration changes.
- I am experienced in in-band and out-of-band network management.
- I have a strong knowledge of VPN, IPSec, and on-premises deployment of SD-WAN Infrastructure.
- I hold a Security+ Certification.
- I possess an active Top Secret with SCI eligibility clearance.
- I have a current DoD 8570 certification at IAT level II (Security+CE).
- I am proficient with Cisco IOS-XE, vManage, and network automation tools.
- I have basic Linux Administration or command line interface (CLI) experience.
Responsibilities
- I will design, configure, deploy, and manage Cisco SD-WAN solutions (Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN, formerly known as Viptela or Meraki).
- I will work closely with DRSN engineers and site personnel to coordinate deployments and maintenance actions.
- I will evaluate system network requirements and make appropriate technical recommendations.
- I will provide expertise in SD-WAN overlay/underlay networking, including BGP, OSPF, IPSec tunnels, and application-aware routing.
- I will implement and maintain Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN Manager/vManage, Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN Controller/vSmart, Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN Validator/vBond, and Edge routers.
- I will configure and manage Quality of Service (QoS), security policies, and segmentation within the SD-WAN fabric.
- I will assist IA personnel with network security and compliance requirements.
- I will perform installation, testing, and validation of network components both remotely and on-site.
- I will monitor network performance, troubleshoot SD-WAN-related issues, and optimize WAN connectivity.
- I will document network architecture, configurations, and best practices.
- I will support deployments, upgrades, and migrations as required.
Description
The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos has an opening for a Cisco SD-WAN Engineer on the DISA Defense Red Switch Network team, supporting an enterprise VoIP management system on the GSM-O II contract at Fort Meade, MD. The successful candidate will have a Cisco SD-WAN background and will be responsible for the design, deployment, testing, and maintenance of SD-WAN solutions within an enterprise environment. This is a dynamic and fast-paced program where the engineer will interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, primarily internal teammates. As a subject matter expert (SME) in Cisco SD-WAN technologies, the engineer will ensure optimal performance, security, and scalability of WAN infrastructure across multiple environments (DEV/TEST and Production). To excel in this role, the engineer will provide technical assistance, administer configurations, upgrade software, develop and/or update related documentation, apply applicable STIGs, conduct testing, recommend enhancements, and troubleshoot issues related to the Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN infrastructure and various network components.
