Requirements
Must:
- I require a Master’s degree in network engineering, computer science, or a related subject and 15 years of experience, *OR* a Doctorate degree in network engineering, computer science, or a related subject and 13 years of experience, *OR* an appropriate combination of education and experience.
- A TS/SCI with Poly is necessary to be considered for this position.
- I need candidates to hold an active/current basic CCNA certification.
- A solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model is essential.
- Hands-on experience with network monitoring, diagnostics, and analytics tools is required.
- Experience in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco appliances is necessary.
- Candidates must have experience in configuring and troubleshooting routing and switching, including routing protocols.
- I expect experience in writing scripts for Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls.
- You should demonstrate the ability to work well both individually and within a team environment, maintaining professional behavior with all stakeholders.
- The ability to lift 50 lbs. and climb 30 ft. is required.
Responsibilities
- As a Chief Network Engineer, I will depend on you to supervise a team of engineers and oversee the maintenance and troubleshooting of all network components.
- You will be tasked with implementing best practices regarding network upgrades, growth strategies, network security, and efficiency.
- I expect you to be an independent problem solver, a strong self-motivator, and someone who is comfortable taking the initiative on technical projects.
Description
I am seeking a Chief Network Engineer to join my team in Chantilly, VA. My team consists of highly technical and motivated individuals, and I need an engineer who can assist in troubleshooting complex problems while implementing cutting-edge solutions. As part of my program, you will collaborate with both CONUS and OCONUS teams across varying time zones, so excellent communication skills and flexibility regarding teamwork and tasking are a must. I value candidates who have demonstrated an ability to perform well in cross-functional teams to achieve results in a timely manner.
Desired qualifications include CCNA/CCNP Security certification, experience with Cisco ASA/Firepower and Juniper SRX appliances, and proficiency in implementing and troubleshooting various network services and systems. The ability to travel OCONUS as needed is also preferred.
The pay range for this position is anticipated to be between $134,550.00 and $243,225.00, subject to various factors regarding responsibilities, education, experience, and internal equity.
