Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of pertinent experience or a Masters Degree
- Practical experience in developing and supporting microservices-based systems
- Proficient in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Java, Python, C++, or similar on a Linux-based system)
- Background in AI/ML-enabled systems (Claude-Code), automation, or intelligent platforms
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies
- Knowledge of APIs and distributed system concepts
- Ability to secure and maintain a Public Trust
- U.S. citizenship required
- Successful completion of background checks as mandated by the government
Responsibilities
- Design, create, and sustain microservices-based applications utilizing contemporary software engineering best practices
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, and engineers within an Agile/SAFe framework
- Engage in sprint planning, daily standups, reviews, and retrospectives
- Work alongside systems engineering and program teams to convert requirements into functional software solutions
- Develop clean, maintainable, and testable code while adhering to CI/CD and DevSecOps standards
- Participate in system design discussions and contribute to technical decision-making
- Integrate services with databases, messaging systems, and external APIs
- Assist with troubleshooting, performance optimization, and ongoing enhancement of systems
- Collaborate closely with QA, DevOps, and platform teams to ensure dependable delivery
- Implement up-to-date automated testing strategies, including unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end testing
- Employ AI-enhanced development tools to speed up coding, refactoring, debugging, and test creation
